NECRONOMICON NOTES
Although the convention is still six months away, it's not too soon to mark the dates on your calendar. The festivities will take place October 10-12. Our guests of honor will be Joseph Green and Kevin J. and Rebecca Anderson. We've heard from some other lovely folks who'll be rounding out the program for us. So far, those who have been caught in our web are: Charles Fontenay, Don Callandar, Scott Ciencin, Matthew DiPalma, Barbara and Ben Bova, Craig MacDougal, Steve Antczak, Owl Goingback, Jeanette Spencer, Vince Courtney, Kendall F. Morris, Jack Haldeman, Barbara Delaplace, Richard Lee Byers, and Gerry Duran who'll be giving a fencing demonstration for us again this year. .
It's not too late for those authors and artists who received my e-mail or snail mail invitations to NECRONOMICON '97 to but have not yet responded to send in a BIG YES reply. We plan to put out a flyer by the middle of May, so if you want your name to be on that, we do need to hear from you by the first of May.
Please, don't start asking us for the program schedule. That's not even a gleam in our eyes yet but if you or someone you know is interested in our convention T-shirt design contest, write to me at the P.O. box or by e-mail for details on that. The deadline for entries is August 5. I can give you masquerade information if you need that too. Dealers should contact Rolaine Smoot at 813/684-1144. Art show information is not yet available but should be ready in June. If you have ideas for program events or panel subjects, please share them with us. Again, you can write to me at the P.O. box or by e-mail. After 15 NECRONOMICONS it's pretty hard to come up with topics we haven't discussed, so we welcome your suggestions.

CONGAMES '97
If you are a gamer, this is the con for you. It's devoted strictly to gaming. The dates are June 28 & 29. It will be held at the Camberley Inn in Tampa. For more information on ConGames, e-mail gaming@stonehill.org or write to: ConGames, 2556 Seaford Circle, #1, Tampa, FL 33613. You can phone 813/903-0390. Dealers should contact Rolaine Smoot at 813/684-1144. You should also visit the Stone Hill web site (www.stonehill.org) for information on this and other Stone Hill topics.

APRIL BIRTHDAYS
Only two Stone Hill people are changing the numbers this month. Lots of good wishes and hopes for many more birthdays go to
Lester Sumner--April 15, and Kendall David Morris--April 26.

STONE HILL MEETING
In the merry month of May, the meeting will be held May 11 at Marna and Jack Faber's home at 8200 Hornwood Place, Tampa. You can call Jack and Marna for directions at 813/880-9640. This is a pool party, so bring the bathing suit if you want to have a little swim.

COOK'S CORNER
This month's treat is really easy to make and only calls for two not difficult at all to find ingredients. So, kids, do try this at home.

STRAWBERRY CREAM CHEESE

8 ounces soft cream cheese
3 to 4 tablespoons strawberry preserves
In a small mixing bowl, stir together soft cream cheese and strawberry preserves. Continue stirring till well mixed. Place in a covered container and keep in the refrigerator. That's it! This tastes great on breads that are slightly sweet and on graham crackers too.

I wish I could say I came up with this idea myself but it came from Gerry Duran. I haven't tried this yet but I bet you could use other fruit preserves such as peach and apricot to make nice cream cheese spreads too. Orange marmalade might be interesting as well. I can't quite see apple or grape being good but if anyone tries those and likes them, let me know.

TILL NEXT TIME, TAKE CARE AND HAVE FUN!
